To cast light upon Olafur Eliasson's work from different angles, four lecture programs are held in the auditorium: a talk by the curator that accompanies a conversation between the artist and a philosopher; an online live talk between Studio Olafur Eliasson and a former longtime chef at the studio kitchen; and two scholarly lectures on the artist's practices grounded on in-depth art historical and theoretical analysis.

Within the darkened space of the Black Box, multiple spotlights illuminate a circular curtain of fine mist, creating shimmering rainbows in the air. Choreographers and dancers are drawn to this work that is also a space, Rainbow assembly, exploring and adding another layer of liveliness to it. Some of them also invite audience participation, giving you a chance to be included in an artistic experience created by bodily movements.

■ Zometool Workshop
In his work, Olafur Eliasson often makes use of the Zome system. Zometools, a model-construction set with balls and sticks, are provided in the Workshop Room, Ground Gallery; you can use them to construct different shapes, from a simple figure to a complex polyhedron. There is an instructor-led session at 2pm and 4pm every day. The workshop is free to exhibition-ticket holders, who may just turn up. No reservation required. [More]

Olafur Eliasson's work is not constrained to museums. He made a large outdoor installation with ice blocks from Greenland in coincidence with UN COP 21 conference, collaborated with a university to experiment on new possibilities of art education, and provided sustainable energy to those without access to electricity through a social business. You can take a look into the broad range of the artist's practices through the films on display in the Workshop Room. [More]
